Teen Patti 999 (also written Teen Patti 9-9-9) swaps classic hand rankings for a number game: each card becomes a digit, and the player whose three digits form the number closest to 999 wins the pot. It plays fast, the maths is simple, and one good 9 can flip a whole hand.
Card values
Forget Trails and Sequences here — every card is just a digit:
| Card | Value |
|---|---|
| 2–9 | Face value (2 = 2 … 9 = 9) |
| Ace | 1 |
| 10, J, Q, K | 0 |
You receive three cards and arrange them in any order to build your best three-digit number. Only the resulting three digits matter — suits are irrelevant.
How a round plays out
- Every player posts the boot (e.g. ₹10) and receives three face-down cards.
- Betting works exactly like classic Teen Patti — blind and seen stakes, chaal, pack, sideshow and show all apply (brush up with our Teen Patti rules guide).
- At showdown, each remaining player arranges their digits for the highest possible number and the hand closest to 999 wins.
Example: you hold 9♥ K♠ 5♦. The King is 0, so your digits are 9, 0, 5 — best arrangement 950. Your opponent holds 8♣ 8♦ 7♥ for 887. Your 950 is closer to 999, so you take the pot.
What makes a strong hand
- 9-9-9 is the perfect hand — unbeatable.
- High digits everywhere: 9-8-7 (987) and 9-9-x hands are monsters.
- One 9 carries a hand. 9-x-x always starts with 9, putting you at 900+ before the other digits matter.
- Picture cards hurt: K-Q-J gives you 000, the worst possible hand.
Strategy tips
- Lead with your 9s. No 9 in hand? You top out at 8xx, which loses to any 9-high hand — fold early against confident bettors.
- Two zeros is a fold. Hands like K-J-4 (400 at best) rarely survive a showdown; don’t pay seen stakes to chase them.
- Bet sizing tells a story. Players who jump from ₹10 chaal to ₹40 raises after seeing cards usually hold a 9. Respect the raise.
- Sideshows are cheap insurance. With a mid hand like 870, a sideshow settles things before the pot gets expensive.
- Play blind early at small tables. Since most hands cluster in the 500–900 range, staying blind for a round at a ₹10 boot table keeps your costs low while you gauge the action.
